Early Educators Gather in South Yarmouth for a Legislative Action and a Regional PD

Before a Professional Development on Mind in the Making last Thursday, MECEU activists called their legislators who co-sponsored our bill, An Act to Improve Quality in Early Education Centers (S223/H477). Senator Joan Lovely Visits the Little Beginnings Harvest Festival in Salem

Teachers, parents, and community members were joined by Senator Joan B. Lovely at Little Beginnings Daycare in Salem on November 6th for food and fun while discussing MECEU and how to strengthen access to early education in Massachusetts! In the top photo, Senator Lovely receives a tour from Mary Goodwin, Director of Little Beginnings. Below, children have fun at the cookie decorating and leaf collage stations during the event.

Western Mass. Professional Development and Legislative Action

Early educators from Western Mass. participated in a "Mind in the Making" Professional Development training on October 26th, led by MECEU educator and activist Alissa Papuzynski. After the PD early educators sent postcards, like the one pictured here, to their state representatives.

Rep. Dan Cullinane Dined with Early Educators in Dorchester on Oct. 21st

MECEU Most Supportive Center, The Wonder Years Learning Academy, hosted this dinner in Dorchester on Monday. Educators from 6 centers attended. Over dinner, Representative Dan Cullinane heard testimonies from teachers, directors, and parents about the importance of quality early childhood education, the need for respect in the field, and the importance of MECEU's work to win a voice for early educators at the state level. Professional Development Opportunity in South Yarmouth on November 7th

 
 

This Professional Development will be on Thursday, November 7th at the South Yarmouth Public Library from 6-8pm. 

This will be a 1.5 hour training and will also feature outreach to local legislators about MECEU. Parents are welcome (and encouraged) to attend! Regional PD's are a great way for early educators from different centers to meet and discuss issues in the field.
