Tomorrow, March 6th, is MECEU Lobby Day in support of our bill, An Act to Improve Quality in Early Education Centers (H.477/S.223). We look forward to the opportunity to gather with fellow early educators from across the state to communicate the importance of this legislation for early education in Massachusetts. We believe bringing educators into the decision-making process will improve quality and stabilize the workforce. This will improve opportunities for our youngest students. In the weeks leading up to Lobby Day, children at centers across Massachusetts created artwork for their representatives.

On Thursday, March 6th, early educators and supporters from across the state will meet in Boston for an MECEU Lobby Day in support of An Act to Improve Quality in Early Education Centers (H.477/S.223). We will visit legislators in groups to discuss the bill and deliver artwork created by children in Most Supportive Centers across the state for legislators in their district. This artwork serves as a reminder of our shared goal: to improve quality for children in some of the most resource-needy independent centers in Massachusetts. We believe bringing educators into the decision-making process will improve quality and stabilize the workforce.

The UAW sent a letter of support to the Joint Committee on Public Service in support of our legislation, An Act to Improve Quality in Early Childhood Centers (H.477/S.2323) that says:

"The UAW and its Locals 1596 and 2322 represent approximately 1000 early childhood educators at 18 centers statewide who we believe would be positively impacted by the passage of this bill. Children deserve nothing less than the best possible early education possible – this bill would make a difference for thousands of children and their families living in the Commonwealth."
